CECIL GENE WHISNANT
Cecil Gene Whisnant was born December 30, 1948 in Gainesville, MO. He departed this world January 26, 2014 in Strafford, MO. Gene was of the Assemblies of God faith. Gene's parents were Hershel Whisnant and Pauline Nave Whisnant.
He is survived by his wife Donna Bethurem Whisnant; daughter Rhonda Whisnant; son Greg Whisnant and wife Jennifer; grandchildren Tera Whisnant, Anna Whisnant, Gregory Whisnant, Mackenzie Whisnant, Cody Whisnant and Cailin Baxter; two brothers Bob Whisnant and wife Shirley and Jim Whisnant; one sister Barbara Andrews and husband Tim; three brothers-in-law Don Handley, Mike Bethurem and wife Tanya, Jerry Bethurem and wife Cathy; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Joe and Billy; and sister Patty.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville, MO with Rev. Shawn Harding conducting the services. Visitation will be Friday morning from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Sims Cemetery. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Epilepsy Foundation or the Preferred Hospice of Ozark. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
