Charles R. Anderson, 67 years, 9 months, and 11 days old, passed to heaven on September 24, 2012 at Cox Medical Center South.

Charles was born December 13, 1944 in Washington, PA to Floyd and Gladys (Chase) Anderson.

Charles retired from the U.S. Navy in 1989 with 30 years of service. He had recently worked at McDonalds in Ava.

Charles Anderson and Sandra Curtis were united in marriage on November 16, 1963 in West Alexander, PA. To this union four children were born.


Charles enjoyed playing bingo at the VFW and he loved watching NASCAR. He was a big Dale Earnhardt fan and a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Charles was a devoted family man and enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow.

Charles was preceded by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Charles is survived by his wife, Sandra, of the home, his children, Doug Anderson and wife, Charlotte, Ava, MO, Theresa Tucker and husband, Daniel. Ava, MO, James Anderson and wife Solange, Dayton, NV, and Ward (Mike) Anderson, Mtn. Grove, MO. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brandon Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Sidney Tucker, Amanda Tucker, Shelley Simpson Curtis Bertoldie, Riley Anderson, and three great-grandchildren, Aiden Anderson, Kaylee Robertson, and Emma Anderson


Funeral services for Charles will be Graveside, Friday, September 28, 10:00 a.m. at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, September 27, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava. Officiating will be Tom Hawkins. Memorials may be made to The American Heart Association.
