Charles Cleo Burlile

Charles Cleo Burlile, 93 years, passed away on July 25, 2013 at Jordan Creek Nursing Home and Rehab., Springfield, MO.

Cleo was born August 1, 1919 in Stratton, Colorado to Charles Franklin and Marjorie (Crady) Burlile. He graduated from Paseo High School in Kansas City, MO. Cleo was an Army Air Corp Veteran and served during WWII.

Cleo and Helen (Ganusko) were united in marriage January 8, 1946 in Kansas City, MO, and to this union two children were born.

Cleo was a retired Professional Golfer. He had owned, created and operated the Southview Golf Course in Belton, MO, just south of Kansas City for many years. He was a consummate golf professional, running golf courses, giving golf lessons and playing the game most of his life. Cleo was a member of the PGA.
After his retirement he moved to Florida, where he enjoyed his life there. Cleo was an un
forgettable character.

Cleo was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Helen.


Cleo is survived by two children, Jeanne Scrivner and husband Tim, Ava, MO and Charles J. Burlile and wife Cammarie Johnson, Westborough, MA, and two grandchildren.


Cremation services for Cleo are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
