Obituary

Charles Kenneth Hannaford, son of Elvis and Loma Hannaford, was born May 22, 1945 in Gainesville, Missouri and departed this life on June 9, 2017 in the Gainesville Health Care Center in Gainesville, Missouri, at the age of 72.

On November 14, 1964 he was united in marriage to Patsy Ann Shaw and to this union one child was born. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bill and Jerry Hannaford.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Patsy Hannaford; one son, Chuck Hannaford and wife Tanya of Republic, Missouri; one granddaughter, Alex Hannaford; two brothers, Robert Hannaford and wife Carol of Mtn. Home, Arkansas, Dwain Hannaford and wife Lisa of Gainesville, Missouri; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Kenneth was born and raised in Gainesville and graduated from Gainesville High School in 1963. After he and Patsy were married they made their home in Leavenworth, Kansas while Kenneth worked at Hallmark Cards. He served in the National Guard/United States Army from 1966 to 1970 while serving one tour in Vietnam during 1969.

In 1976, Kenneth, Patsy, and Chuck moved to the Gainesville, Missouri area as Kenneth took employment over the years primarily as a local truck driver, delivering goods and road and bridge supplies. He and Patsy maintained a small farm in Pontiac, Missouri with beef and dairy cattle for many years as well.

Kenneth attended Frontier Baptist Church in Pontiac, Missouri much of his adult life and professed his faith in Christ to Pastor Bruce DeWeese during his recent illness.

Kenneth loved to be outside, working on his farm and helping others if necessary or not. He did not know strangers in the community for long, as he became a co-worker, caring neighbor, and friend to many. He was a wonderful son, devoted husband, loving father, and awesome grandpa. We will miss him dearly until we see him again.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Bruce DeWeese and Dale Roberts officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in the Pontiac Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. to service time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to be made to Pontiac Cemetery or Frontier Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
