CHARLES K REYNOLDS

Charles K. Reynolds, 84, of Gainesville, MO passed away September 16, 2019 at the Gainesville Healthcare Center. He was born May 27, 1935 in Gainesville to Archie K. and Jewel (Owens) Reynolds.

Charles grew up in Gainesville and graduated from Gainesville High School in 1952. In the summer of 1953, he was united in marriage to Aletta Pitts. To this union two sons were born, Darrell and Don. The family moved to Wichita, KS, back to Gainesville for a short time, then back to Wichita where Charles worked for Boeing Aircraft in the late 1950's. He returned home in 1960 and worked for MoDot under the supervision of Barney Douglas and Lester Thurman for a few years before moving to Forsyth, MO in 1967 and opening a Western Auto store.
At age 50 Charles returned to Gainesville to take over the family farm, which was his first love. He stayed there his remaining 34 years. In 1994 he married Sudie Yvonne (Kitchens) Stofle.
Charles was a member of the Lord's church. In his time here he worshipped at Gainesville Church of Christ, Barren Fork Church of Christ, and Forsyth Church of Christ.

Charles is survived by his wife, Yvonne Reynolds; his two sons, Darrell Reynolds and wife Jan of Rogersville, MO, Donald Reynolds and wife Karin of Montgomery, AL; eight grandchildren, Stacy Sigler, Ray Reynolds, Dennis Reynolds, Shawna Page and husband Jason, Caleb Reynolds, Aaron Reynolds, Jonathan Reynolds and Brandi (Reynolds) Watkins; five great grandchildren; one sister Eileen Plemones of Springfield, MO; one brother Harold Reynolds and wife Mary Ann of Gainesville, MO; two nieces Kelly Maddox and Cheri Carey and husband Tim; two nephews Gary Plemones and wife Amber, and Daniel Reynolds.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Aletta Reynolds.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 19, 2019 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Carl Herndon officiating. Visitation will be Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Center Point Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
