Charley D. Freeman, son of Arthur Edwin Freeman and Mildred (Dahlberg) Freeman was born on January 5, 1939 in Coldsprings, MO and passed away with his family by his side on January 2, 2008 in Ava, MO at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 27 days.

Charley was an independent construction contractor. He was a resident of the Ava community for the past three years moving from the Denver, CO area. He was an Army Veteran and served his country with the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964. Charley was united in marriage to Gloria Colbert and to this union three children were born, Charley Duane, Victor & Eric. Later he married Artie and to this union two children, Andrea and Aaron were born.
Charley was a Christian. He loved fishing and music.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Eric Freeman and an infant daughter.
His survivors are four children, Charley Duane Freeman, Shawnee Mission, KS, Victor Freeman, Aaron Freeman and Andrea Freeman all of Denver, Colorado, six brothers, Clifton Freeman, Liberty, MO, Harold Freeman, Windsor, MO, Gerald Freeman, North Kansas City, MO, Donald Freeman, Liberty, MO, Dewey Freeman and Milton Freeman both of Ava, MO, three sisters, Judy LeCompte, Eugene, OR, Carol Tobin, Bolivar, MO and Nancy Davidson, Springfield, MO and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial service for Charley is Saturday, January 5, 2008, 2:00 p.m. at the Ava Full Gospel Church, Ava, MO with the Rev. "Butch" McCleary officiating. Military Honors will be presented outside of the church by Ava American Legion Post #112 and VFW #5993. Burial of cremains will be in the Brushy Knob Cemetery at a later date. Family requests memorials to American Cancer Society. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
