Cheryl Eacret
June 17, 1962 - September 17, 2025

September 17, 2025, marked the passing of Cheryl Ann Eacret, a 63-year-old resident of Gainesville, Missouri, at the Hospice House of the Ozarks. A native Californian, born in San Jacinto to Milton and Anita Eacret, her formative years were spent relocating between Naval bases with her five siblings. Upon her father's retirement from the Navy in the early 1970s, the family made Gainesville, MO, their permanent home.

Cheryl's primary role evolved into that of a caregiver very early on in her life, deriving fulfillment from caring for others, as evidenced by her experience as a CNA, her ownership of a daycare, and her unwavering commitment to her family. Cheryl's purpose was exemplified in her dedication and devotion to her loved ones.

Cheryl also had an affinity for water, and any opportunity to spend time with her family at the beach, lake, or river brought her immense joy. She cherished any gathering where she was surrounded by those closest to her. She was an avid fan of horror movies and crime series, and her reactions while watching either one were always more entertaining than what was happening on the screen. Her playful nature, quirky comments, and magnetic personality made her a constant source of laughter for her grandkids, nieces, and nephews. Her legacy will be marked by the unforgettable memories she created, characterized by her hilarious facial expressions, outbursts, and good-natured orneriness. She will be missed most by those who called her Grammy.

Cheryl is survived by her three children and their spouses, Lance and Allisa West of Gainesville, MO, Amy Suter of Gainesville, MO, Michael and Whitney Welch of Theodosia, MO, her sister Elaine Butler of St. Louis, MO, her brother Steve Eacret of Gainesville, MO, her sister Melanie Cook and her husband, Bret Cook of Theodosia, MO, her brother Scott Eacret and his wife, Lisa Eacret of Maryland Heights, MO, her sister-in-law, Donna Eacret of Rogersville, and her five grandchildren: Lauren Suter, Lakyn Suter, Laney Suter, Norah Welch and Corbin West, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Anita Eacret, as well as her brother, Terry Eacret, and sister-in-law, Linda Eacret.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Gainesville School Care to Learn. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 22, at 11 am at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville, MO, with Mason Eslinger officiating. Interment will follow at Smith Chapel Church of Christ.
