Cheryl Gay Hopper, 61 years, passed to heaven on August 9, 2011 at her home with her family by her side.
Cheryl was born December 11, 1949 in Springfield, MO to Leonard and Mary (Gaulding) Owens.
Cheryl was a lifelong resident of the Ava community. On January 2, 1998 Cheryl and William "Bill" Hopper were united in marriage in Ava, MO. Cheryl was a Christian and a member of the Walnut Grove General Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star, Ava Chapter #47.
She enjoyed her employment of Entertainment Ticket Sales in Branson, traveling the country with her huband as a Truck Driver, and she also enjoyed owning and operating a Florist Shop in Ava. She got the opportunity to sing backup and tour with Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn. Cheryl loved singing at church and playing her piano. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and most of all she adored and loved being with all her grandchildren.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, a nephew, Mark Kyle Owens, several aunts and uncles.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, "Bill" Hopper, Ava, MO, six children, eight grandchildren, brother & wife, Larry & Vicky Owens, Ava, MO, sister-in-law, Minnie, two brothers-in-law, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Funeral services for Cheryl will be Saturday, August 13, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Roberts. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
