Chester Frank Lamb

Chester Frank Lamb, 72 years, passed to heaven on December 13, 2013 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, MO.

Chester was born April 21, 1941 in Girdner, MO to James Arthur and Florence Mae (Mallonee) Lamb.

Chester was a resident of the Ava community since 2003 moving from the state of Washington. He grewup in the Girdner community. He retired from working at a food processing plant, Twin City Foods in Prosser, WA.


He was a Veteran and served as a cook with the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He was on the USS Kitty Hawk and during the Vietnam War received a Bronze Star.

He was a Christian. He enjoyed motorcyle rallies, tinkering with his old cars, and riding his Harley's. He also delighted in having coffee every morning with his friends at McDonald's.

Chester was preceded by his parents; two sisters; Willa Mae and Kay and five brothers; Roy, Junior Ray, Floyd, Robert Wayne and Arthur, Jr.


Chester is survived by three sisters; Leota "Dutch" Lamb Grant, state of Tennessee, Dorothy "Dot" Alexander, Middleburg, Florida and Judith "Judy" Zernicke, state of Oregon, several nephews and nieces, a special friend, Daisy Moore and other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Chester will be Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Murray Cemetery with full military honors by Ava American Legion Post 112. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn. Memorials may be made to Gideon's International.
