Chester David Riley, 89 years, passed to Heaven on December 25, 2013 at his home with his family by his side from a short illness.
Chester was born December 25, 1924 in Blanche, MO to David Edgar and Maude Mae (Berry) Riley.
Chester was a life long resident of Douglas County. On March 22, 1947 Chester and Katie Hicks were united in marriage in Mtn. Home, AR and to this union six children were born. Chester was a retired Foreman with the Missouri State Highway Dept. and had served for 40 years.
Chester accepted his Lord and Savior! The family rejoices in his faith and his eternal Heavenly home.
Chester was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed fishing and riding his four wheeler with his grand and great grandchildren.
Chester was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Sterling, Carl "Red" and Johnnie; one son, Gary David Riley, son-in-law, Kenny Stout and great grandson, Peyton Massey.
Chester is survived by his wife, Katie Riley, Drury, MO, five daughters & their spouses; Janet & Stanley Collins, Battlefield, MO, daughter-in-law, Sandra Riley, Dora, MO, Vicky Stout, Drury, MO, Jeanie & David Shipley, Dora, MO, Nancy & Roger Posey, Cave Springs, AR and Cindy Barkes, Mtn. Home, AR, 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; one brother, Marvin Riley, Drury, MO, two sisters; June Ousley, Bettendorf, IA and Martha Jane Rogers, Springfield, MO, many nieces, nephews and a other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Chester will be Sat. Dec. 28, 2013, 11:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Blanche Cemetery, Drury, MO. Visitation will be Sat. from 10:00 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Doug Irwin, Pastor David Shipley and Rev. T.J. Stout. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Blanche Cemetery.
