Christiaan Theodore Jansen, 78, Gainesville, MO, passed away on August 1, 2010 at the Gainesville Healthcare Center. He was born on July 6, 1932 in Velp, The Netherlands, son of Christiaan and Evertje (Phielix) Jansen.
Mr. Jansen had been a resident of Ozark County for the past six years, moving here from Nevada after his wife Stella (Cosare) Jansen passed away in 2004, to be close to his son Ted. Mr. Jansen had owned and operated Exquisite Grinding, a knife sharpening business, in Upland, CA. He sharpened knives for paper companies for over 20 years. He will be remembered as a hard working, sometimes stubborn man who was very generous and caring. He earned everything he made, but would quickly give it to someone who was in need. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Jansen is survived by one daughter Leilani Whittenberg and her husband Dean; one son Theodore "Ted" Jansen and his wife Emily of Gainesville, MO; and one granddaughter Tessa Jansen. He was preceded in death by his parents Christiaan and Evertje Jansen; and his wife Stella Jansen, who he loved more than anything.
No local services are planned. Cremation services are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO. Mr. Jansen will be laid to rest in Hawaii with his beloved wife.
