Christine Samantha Heard, 87 years, passed to heaven on June 22, 2013 at Christian Healthcare in Nixa, MO with her husband, Kenneth and family by her side.

Christine was born October 19, 1925 in Vera Cruz, MO in Douglas County to Johnnie Preston and Martha (Freeman) Rhoades.

Christine was a resident of Ozark for several years moving from Ava, MO. Christine and Norman Page were united in marriage on May 18, 1942 in Evans, MO and to this union three daughters were born. Norman preceded in death in 1997.

Later on Christine and Kenneth Heard were united in marriage on Nov. 7, 1998 in Ava, MO.

Christine was a Christian and a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Ozark, MO. She was always faithful in working in her church. She served for many years at the Brushyknob Church near Ava.

She and her husband Norman operated a dairy farm for many years. She worked hard in the garden and loved cooking for all her family anytime of the day. Christine had also worked at Ava Greenhouses for 25 years and other various jobs through the years. She worked hard at everything she did. Christine also loved music, sewing and traveling. The last several years were blessed by having her Kenneth by her side. They were always together.
Christine adored her family as they did her. Most of all, her faith in the Lord was strong.


Christine was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Norman Page, a niece, Lisa Schwigen, a nephew, Neil Russell and a great niece, Olivia Pyne.

Christine is survived by her husband, Kenneth Heard, Ozark, MO, three daughters and their spouses, Janice & Dave Meier, Ava, MO, Sue & David Pitts, Rogersville, MO and Kay Norton, Mtn. Home, AR, four step children, Lietta & Glen Riexinger, Scranton, PA, Gail & Danny Gatton, Bettendorf, IA, Mike & Deede Heard, LeClaire, IA and Bryan & Jean Heard, Davenport, IA, and Twila & Leroy Winkle, Sparta, MO, (who cared for them like their own children), eleven grandchildren, twelve step grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren, nine step great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren, five brothers and sisters, Kenneth"Bud" & Arlene Rhoades, Bluegrass, IA, Florence & Lyle Clinkingbeard, Ava, MO, Nola Lance, Moline, IL, Naomi Russell, Davenport, IA and Ike & Nancy Rhoades, Ava, MO, four brothers and sisters in-law; Ruby, Jean, Don and Royce, many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Christine will be Tuesday, June 25, 2013, 11:00 a.m.at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Brushyknob Cemetery, east of Ava. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Gary Mitchener. Memorials may be made to First Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund, 201 E.
