Coy Isaac Runion

Coy I. Runion, 85, of Gainesville, MO passed to heaven on June 26, 2011 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, MO. He was born February 14, 1926 in Tecumseh, MO to Gaither and Alta (Corp) Runion.
He was a member of the Gainesville church of Christ in Gainesville, MO. No obituary can explain this wonderful man's life. He has been writing it for 85 years. Look at his friends, co-workers, family and all the wonderful Christian brothers and sisters in Christ. He lived his Christian life as strong as he was a man. He was a Mo-Dot employee for thirty-three and a half years. He also worked at General Motors and Westinghouse in Kansas City, MO for several years. His family, job and the church was his life.
In 1947 he asked Flo Hannaford to become his wife. They were married in Mountain Home, AR on October 14, 1947 and had a wonderful life together. To this union, three children blessed their life.
Coy was preceded in death by his parents Gaither and Alta Runion; his mother-in-law and father-in-law George and Martha Hannaford; brothers Troy and wife Lela, Don and Shirley, Percy and Ruth; one sister Earlene Kastning; and one granddaughter Tina Hampton.
Coy leaves behind his wife Flo Runion of Gainesville, MO; three children Brenda Hampton and husband Tom, Karen McKee and husband J.D., Phil Runion and wife Stacy; nine grandchildren Cindy Stofer and Phillip, Beth Hampton and Lee, Dustin Hudspeth, Tyler Hudspeth, Jason McKee, Casey McKee, Corey Runion, Keith Runion and Ashley Runion; seven great grandchildren Jennifer Stofer, Abby Hampton, Andy Hampton, Austin Welch, Kylie Runion, Tucker Coy Runion and Brooke Runion; one great great grandchild Dakota Clines; one sister Pauline Vietti of Leavenworth, KS; two sisters-in-law Edna Hannaford and Norma Cobb both of Gainesville, MO; one brother-in-law Marlin McGinnis of Gainesville, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services for Coy will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the Gainesville Church of Christ. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon from 1-2 pm at the church. Officiating will be Wayne Stewart and Halbert Smith. Burial will be in the Brushy Knob Cemetery.
