CRAIG D. COCKRUM
Craig Doy Cockrum, 62, of Gainesville, MO was born July 29, 1952 at Springfield, MO to Doyle and Gertrude (Taylor) Cockrum. He passed away on January 23, 2015 at his home.
On March 18, 1995 he married Dianne Farris at Pineville, AR. On April 20, 1996 they were blessed with the birth of their daughter Ellie and on May 7, 1998 their son Josh completed their family. In May of 1999 they went back to milking so they could spend more time as a family and do what Craig loved. He loved spending time with his family and spent many long hours coaching Gainesville girls softball and boys baseball each summer when his kids were growing up.
Craig graduated from Gainesville High School in 1970 and worked at Baxter Lab in Mountain Home, milked cows and in 1994 he went to work at Baxter County Regional Medical Center where he met and married Dianne before going back to milking. He loved hunting and fishing with his kids.
Craig is survived by his wife Dianne; daughter Ellie and son Josh; his mother Gertrude Cockrum; sister Sherri Wilson and husband Rod; brothers-in-law Mike Farris, Jim Farris and wife Sharon; nephews Dustin Hudson, Kase Wilson, Kyle Wilson, C J Farris; nieces Mindi Lawson and husband Andy, Britney White and husband Devin, Susan Farris; and two great nephews Colton and Rhett Lawson; his Aunts Nadine Johnson and Ann Kruse; Uncle Bill Cockrum and many cousins and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Doyle Cockrum; father and mother-in-law Joe and Barbara Farris; paternal grandparents Clarence and Annie Cockrum and maternal grandparents D L and Zona Taylor; his brothers A.D. and Tommy Cockrum; and sister Norma Luna.
Funeral services for Craig will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Bro. Jim Farris officiating. Visitation will be Monday evening, January 26th from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lilly Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are asked to be made out to: Dianne Cockrum, in order to give to the boys basketball team to help with camp fees. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
