Cindy Mae Fitzgerald, 52 years passed to heaven on October 21, 2012 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare with her family by her side.

Cindy was born August 31, 1960 in Mtn. Grove, MO to Robert "Bob" and Lorene (Rippee) Dougherty. She graduated from Ava High School.

Cindy was a lifelong resident of the the Ava community.
On June 29, 1979 Cindy and Steve Fitzgerald were united in marriage in Ava, MO and to this union two sons were born. Cindy was a Christian and a member of the Cross Point Church in Ava. She had worked in the Health Care industry and was also a homemaker. She enjoyed painting, listening to music and most of all playing and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved her family and church family so very much.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Robert "Bob" Dougherty, her step father, Lowell Maloney, her husband, Steve Fitzgerald in 1998 and a sister-in-law, Dena Dougherty.


Cindy is survived by two sons, Brian Fitzgerald & wife, Tracy, Clarksville, TN and William Fitzgerald & wife, Carrie, Ava, MO, two grandsons, Blake and Collin, her mother, Lorene Maloney, Ava, MO, three sisters, Debbie & Larry Chance, Carolyn & Donnie Davis, and Connie & Danny Givans all of Ava, MO, one brother, Jarrett Dougherty, Branson, MO, many nieces and nephews, and special friends, Karen Hollrah, Judy Shields, Charla Heinlein, and Barbara Ellison and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Cindy will be Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Ron Wallace. Memorials may be made as a love offering to the family or Neighbor Helping Neighbor.
