Dale Reuben Cleghorn, 72 years, 9 months, 2 days old, passed away on March 10, 2026, from a long illness in Dora, Missouri, with family by his side.

Dale was born June 8, 1953, in Lorain, Ohio, to Donald E. and Dorothy June (Hoskyn) Cleghorn.

Dale was raised in Ohio and graduated from Loudonville High School. Dale worked at his father’s fish farm for several years. He later worked for Emerson Electric in Ohio. Due to health issues, he later moved to Missouri.

In July of 1999, Dale and Elinor Francis Ward were united in marriage in Osawatomie, Kansas. Together they raised their children on the farm in Drury, Missouri.

Dale was active in his faith and attended a home church. He enjoyed working on the dairy farm, playing the piano, raising Welsh ponies, and witnessing for his Lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Noah Jabez Cleghorn and Reuben Cleghorn; and his wife, Elinor in 2024.

Dale is survived by his children, Melody Dawn and Allen Melton (their children, Hugh and Lilly), Dorothy Pappas, Donald Cleghorn, Heather and Lonnie Workman (their children, Tyler, Brittany, and Robert), and Amber Kane; siblings, Duane and Chrislei Cleghorn, and Dawn and David Duncan; his very close friends/family, William and Brenda Osborn and their children, Nick and Katy; extended family and friends.

Funeral services for Dale will be Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, Missouri, with burial following in the Cleghorn Beulah Land Family Cemetery, Drury, Missouri. Officiating will be William J. Osborn.
