Dale Leon Ross, 73 years, passed to heaven on August 11, 2014 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare with his family by his side.

Dale was born November 17, 1940 in Thornfield, MO to Robert David and Arbie (Murrill) Ross.

Dale was a resident of the Ava area for many years. He was retired from working at Rawlings Sporting Goods, Wallace & Owens Grocery, Ava Drug Co and Hutchens Steel Industries. He was also a Southern Baptist Minister and had Pastored at Redbank Baptist Church for several years.

On June 4, 1960, Dale and Patricia Ann Spegal were united in marriage and to this union four sons were born. Pat preceded in death. Later on November 19, 1993 Dale and Janice Rae (Peck) were united in marriage in Ava, MO.

Dale was a Christian and a member of the Southern Baptist Church. He enjoyed people and loved to visit. His hobbies were taking care of his horses, playing horseshoes, mowing and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Dale was preceded by his parents, his wife, Patricia "Pat", a son, Michael and two brothers, Wayne and J.B. Ross.

Dale is survived by his wife, Janice Ross, Ava, MO, three sons & their spouses, Ricky Dale & Barbara Ross, Alabama, Mark Ross, Thornfield, MO, James & Amy Ross, Brownbranch, MO, three step children & their spouses, Kenneth & Annette Boyd, Oklahoma City, OK, Suzanne & David Welsh, Ava, MO and David Scott Huskey, Ava, MO, 15 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother, Bob Ross & wife, Norma, Harlington,Texas and a host of other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Dale will be Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, 10:00 A.M. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Thornfield Cemetery, Thornfield, MO. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Vernon Fuller and Pastor David Welsh. Memorials may be made to the family as a Love Offering.
