Dale F. Starkey, 69, from Theodosia MO, formally of St. Anne IL, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield Missouri after a 4 month long battle with Lymphoma and other complications. He was born on March 7, 1949 in Kankakee IL, son of Homer and Dorothy Starkey of St. Anne.
Dale graduated from Bishop McNamara High School in 1967 and attended Joliet Junior College where he met his wife Judy whom he married on September 7, 1968. A native of St. Anne, Dale and Judy relocated to Missouri in 1996 where he worked as the Head Maintenance Supervisor at Gainesville and Lutie Schools until he retired in 2008. Wherever he called home, he enjoyed fishing, boating, spending time with friends and family, keeping them laughing, and mastering any project thrown his way with his buddy Bruno by his side.
Survivors include his wife Judy, daughter Kim Kerness (St. Anne IL), son Derek and his wife KiKi (Round Rock TX), grand-daughters, Allison, Payton, Tabitha, Corva-lena, and Zoe Mae, Ray Starkey (Palm Bay FL), Roy and Gunda Starkey (Copperas Cove TX), Robert and Kathy Starkey (Round Rock TX), Paul and Jerri Starkey (Oceanside CA), Paula and Mark Riberdy (Bourbonnais IL), Sherry and William Hays (Romeoville IL), Mary and Tim Harrington (Fort Wayne IN), numerous nieces and nephews as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John and James and sister Myrna.
Cremation rights have been recorded and a Celebration of Life will be announced in the near future.
