Dale Thomas, 91 years, 4 months, and 8 days old, passed to Heaven on February 20, 2014 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, MO.

Dale was born October 12, 1922 in Douglas County, MO to Oliver and Bertie (Rogers) Letterman.

On December 30, 1935, Dale and Oscar Thomas were united in marriage in Douglas County and to this union six children were born.
Dale was a retired Farmer and Homemaker.

She was a Christian and a longstanding member of the Breeden Freewill Baptist Church. She served as church Secretary for many years and loved her church family. She always looked forward to having her own family gatherings and enjoyed making quilts for all of them.

Dale was preceded in death by her parents, husband Oscar Thomas, two sons, Dwight and Gordon Thomas, a son-in-law, Bob Osburn and a brother Stanley Letterman.


Dale is survived by her children; Howard Thomas, Ava, MO, Annabelle & Marvin Walker, Mansfield, MO, Jerry & Susan Thomas, Ava, MO and Connie Osburn, Ava, MO, 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, one sister, Olive Adamson, Mtn. Grove, MO, one brother, Leo Letterman, Madison, MO and other family and friends.


Funeral services for Dale will be Monday, Feb. 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Stillings Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Joe Lafferty and Rev. Keith Lafferty. Memorials may be made to Stillings Cemetery.
