DALENE ARTHAUD

Dalene Arthaud, 98, of Pontiac, MO passed away on July 22, 2015 at the Magnolia Square Nursing & Rehab Center in Springfield, MO. She was born on June 11, 1917 in Kansas City, MO the daughter of Dale and Ruth (Tobin) Jackson.

Dalene graduated from Laredo High School in Laredo, MO in 1935. On January 4, 1941 she was united in marriage to Don Arthaud in Chillicothe, MO . To this union two children were born, Gary and Donna. After the family had settled in McPherson, KS, Donna continued her education and graduated from McPherson College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1959. She taught school for 25 years in McPherson. After she retired from teaching, Dalene went to work with her husband in their sporting goods & RV store.

The couple moved to Pontiac, MO in 1978 where they owned and operated Pontiac Lodge until 1996. It was then that Dalene officially retired at the young age of 78. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Don Arthaud in February of this year; her parents Dale and Ruth Jackson; and two siblings.

Dalene is survived by her son Gary Arthaud and wife Tami of Rogersville, MO, her daughter Donna Peterson of McPherson, KS; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one brother-in-law Bob Arthaud; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville, MO. Burial will follow in the Pontiac Cemetery.
