Dallas Chambers

Dallas Wayne Chambers, 86 years, 11 months, 9 days old, passed away  January 5, 2018 at his home with his loving wife, Lorene and family by his side.

Dallas was born January 24, 1931 in Dora, MO to William "Bill" Calvin and Lois (Tilman) Chambers.

On December 23, 1950 Dallas and Lorene Moore were united in marriage at Dora, MO and they were blessed with five sons.

Dallas was a retired public school teacher and farmer.  He started his teaching in a one room school in 1950 and taught the next four years. He later received his B.S. Degree in Education at Southwest Missouri State University in 1975. Then he taught until 2008.

He accepted Christ as a teenager and served in the church as Sunday school teacher, song leader, deacon, and where ever was needed. Dallas was a member of the Ava General Baptist Church. He enjoyed working his cattle and most of all being with his family! He delighted in watching his grand and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Loren Lee in 1962, two sisters, Lozene Burnett and Ella Russell, and one brother, Chester Chambers.

Dallas is survived by his wife, Lorene of the home, four sons, Galen & Joyce Chambers, Taneyville, MO, Glen Chambers, Granby, CO, Doyle Chambers, Bisbee, AZ, and Ivan & Robyn Chambers, Colorado Springs, CO, five grandsons, one granddaughter, six great grandsons, two great granddaughters, one sister-in-law, June Chambers, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Dallas will be Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO with burial following in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor James Hathcock. Memorials may be made to Gideons or White River Youth Camp, 13573 E.
