Daniel Layton Walker, 43 years, passed on to Heaven on July 7, 2011 at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, MO. Dan was born April 27, 1968 in Fort Collins, CO to George and Peggy (Ricker) Walker.

Dan was an avid mountain man, U.S. Marine, rancher and NRA member. Dan is survived by his father George Walker and wife Rebecca of Dora, MO, his mother Peggy Walker of Aliso Viejo, CA, two sons Clint and Dillon Walker both of Willow Springs, MO, their mother, Kelli Neel, Willow Springs, MO, paternal grandmother, Ann (Walker) Callahan, Ft. Collins, CO, two sisters Tammy (Chad) Fuller, Tulsa, OK and Jennifer Walker, Columbia, MO, a brother Matthew (Sarah) Walker, Ft. Levenworth, KS, a quiet friend, Roy Whiteaker and life long best friend and brother in heart Kevin Walker, aunts and uncles, Maureen Detaranto, Orlando, FL, Dennis & Bonnie Walker, Ft. Collins, CO, Joe Detaranto, Parsippany, NJ, step sister, Courtney Strong, Springfield, MO, a step brother, Chance ( Esther) Strong, Gainesville, MO, nieces, Nicole Fuller, Natalie & Adelyn Walker, nephews, Justin Fuller and Colton Walker and other relatives and friends.


A Memorial service for Dan will be Monday, July 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. A Visitation will be Monday from 1pm until service time. Officiating will be Pastor Ron Pinckney. Memorials may be made to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
