Daniel Wayne Ousley, 85 years, 8 months, and 8 days old, passed to Heaven on February 24, 2016 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare with his wife, Polly by his side.
Wayne was born June 16, 1930 in Ava, MO to Charles E. and Edith Edna (Holt) Ousley. He graduated from Ava High School in 1948.
In 1950 Wayne joined the U.S. Marine Corp. He reached the rank of Corporal and served as a rifle instructor, where he developed a life long love for guns. He was stationed at Parris Island, S.C. Following the service, Wayne worked for the Missouri State Highway Patrol as a State Trooper. Later, he owned and operated his own business in Willow Springs, MO for several years. From 1974 to 1995 he worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a Special Agent.
On November 29, 1975 Wayne and Polly (Friend) Davidson were united in marriage in Gainesville, MO. They raised their family in Alton, Winona and Ava, MO.
Wayne was a Christian and a member of the Ava General Baptist Church.
Wayne's hobbies were hunting, laughing with friends and spending time with his family.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Keith Ousley and Robert Davidson.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife for over 40 years, Polly Ousley, Ava, MO, three sons, Daniel Bruce Ousley, Ava, MO, Rex Davidson, Cassville, MO and Randy Davidson and fiance, Terri, Hartville, MO, two daughters, Sue Bushong and husband, Mike and Barbara Davidson all of Gainesville, MO, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and
other relatives and friends.
A Memorial service for Wayne will be Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel with full military honors by Troy Herd American Legion Post 112. Officiating will be Pastor Oren Alcorn. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
