Dr. Daniel Elisha Williams
Ava, MO
Daniel Elisha Williams, 89, passed to his Heavenly home on June 19, 2015 at the Missouri Veteran's Home in Cameron, MO.
Daniel was born May 22, 1926 in Troy, NC to Bennie Clay and Lula Florence (Russell) Williams.
Dr. Williams was an ordained Minister with the Church of God (Holiness). He was a U. S. Army Veteran and served in WWII. On Oct. 28, 1945 Daniel and Cordelia Doris Cooper were united in marriage and to this union four children were born.
Dr. Williams received his Doctorate of Theology at International Seminary in Plymouth, FL on April 15, 1990.
He was a member of the American Society of Military Engineers.
Dr. Williams had a passion for working with young people which was a hallmark of his ministry. He pastored churches in Wyoming, Oklahoma, Iowa, Arizona, Kansas, and Missouri, and served on the Board and as President of Gravette Holiness Bible School. He also enjoyed international travel. In 1991, soon after the collapse of the Soviet Union, he participated in Christian ministry in Russia. He was privileged to visit other countries in the Middle East.
Dr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Cordelia Doris in 2003, three brothers and seven sisters. He is survived by three sons and their spouses: Daniel & Elizabeth Williams, Shawnee, KS, Benjamin & Alta Williams, Flagstaff, AZ, Phillip Williams, Dallas, TX and one daughter and husband, Sonya & Steve Martin, St. Cloud, FL, eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Dr. Williams will be Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Ava, MO with full military honors by Troy Herd American Legion Post #112. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Dr. Noel Scott, Reverend Robert Thompson, Sr., Reverend Robert Thompson, Jr. and Rev. Steve Martin. Memorials may be made to Wycliffe Associates, 11450 Translation Way, Orlando, FL 32832, Account 40405 Daniel Williams.
