DANNY WALKER
Charles Daniel "Danny" Walker III, 63, of Gainesville, MO passed to heaven on Monday, June 25, 2012 at his residence. He was born on February 28, 1949 in Mountain Home, AR, the son of Charles Daniel and Leona "Peach" (House) Walker.
Danny graduated from West Plains High School in West Plains, MO with the class of 1967. After graduation, he attended Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University) in Springfield, MO. He was united in marriage to Robin Deweese on December 1, 1984 in the First Baptist Church in Gainesville, MO.
Danny served as Mayor of Gainesville, was on the City Council, and was Farm Bureau president. He worked for several years as a self employed real estate agent. He loved hunting and fishing, and was also a cattleman. Danny was a Christian. He was baptized at an early age at the First Baptist Church in West Plains and has been a member for many years at the Gainesville First Baptist Church. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Peach Walker; and one sister-in-law, Loretta Walker. He is survived by his wife, Robin of the home in Gainesville, MO; one brother, Greg Walker and his wife Alena of Mountain Home, AR; nieces Kristie Shaw and husband Kenny and their children of Republic, MO, Carrie Blackwell and husband Jason and their children of Washington, MO, Eliska Wurfel of Mountain Home, AR; his mother-in-law June Deweese of Gainesville, MO; brothers-in-law Tony, Brad, Barry and Bruce Deweese and their families; sister-in-law Cindy Turner and her family; and several other family members and friends.
A Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2012 in the Baptist Hill Cemetery near Elijah, MO with Tony Deweese officiating. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation and can be left at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
