Dara Lee Townsend, 78, of Isabella, MO and formerly of Ashton, IL, passed away in her home in Isabella, MO. She was born December 29, 1939 at Macomb, IL, the daughter of Erma and Paul Hentges.
She married David William Townsend on November 23, 1958 in Macomb, IL. Dara was a homemaker, an avid quilter, dance teacher and an avid reader. She had worked as a school cook, trucking dispatcher, co-owner of the Ashton Gazette in Illinois for 15 years. She also worked for the Cottage Resort in Branson, MO.
She was baptized at the First Christian Church in Macomb, IL. She was currently attending the Hilltop Victory Chapel in Thornfield, MO.
She is survived by her husband David William Townsend; her two sons Mitchell Raymond Townsend and wife Angela of West Plains, MO, Paul Lynn Townsend of Isabella, MO; three grandchildren Phillip, Skyler, and Olivia Townsend; and four great grandchildren.
No funeral services will be held. A Memorial service for Dara will be held at Hilltop Victory Chapel in Thornfield, MO on a later date.
