DARAHLENE PITCHFORD

Darahlene Pitchford, 81, of Gainesville, MO passed away on December 14, 2013 at the Gainesville Healthcare Center. She was born on July 8, 1932 in Tecumseh, MO, the daughter of Elvis and Florence (Hambelton) Thompson.

Darahlene was baptized when she was 12-13 years old near the Clear Springs Church. On August 29, 1947, she was united in marriage to Bob Pitchford, who preceded her in death on July 8, 1992. To this union six children were born. Darahlene was a homemaker. She loved her family more than anything else and always enjoyed the family get-togethers. She loved her crafts, sewing and taking care of all the flowers in her yard. Darahlene was a Christian and a member of the Clear Springs General Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Darahlene is survived by her six children Jack Pitchford and wife Rose of Tecumseh, MO, Frances Napper of Gainesville, MO, Jim Pitchford and wife Vicki of Hico, TX, Carroll Wise of Gainesville, MO, Johnnie Pitchford and wife Sandy of Allen, TX and Jerry Pitchford and wife Rebecca of Greenwood, MO; 20 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; one sister Velma Mallow and husband Doin of Dewey, OK; two brothers Leo Thompson of Theodosia, MO, Doug Thompson and wife Sharlene of Henderson, TN; one sister-in-law Peggy Thompson of Kansas City, MO; one brother-in-law Don Tillman of Kansas City, MO; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Elvis and Florence Thompson; her husband Bob Pitchford; one brother BG Thompson; one sister Mary Tillman; and one sister-in-law Evelyn Wallace Thompson.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville, MO with Dale Roberts officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 17th from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Brushy Knob Cemetery.
