DARL "POLLY" JAYNE ALDERS

Darl "Polly" Jayne Emery Alders was born on August 3, 1930 to Oris and Iola Emery on a farm in Clarksdale, MO. Polly grew up in St. Joseph, MO with her brother Jack, and attended Blair School and Central High School. During her time at Central, she joined the elite Rosalena Girls Society and made lifelong girlfriends that she was still in touch with up until a few weeks before her death.

On November 12, 1948 she married Lee "Bud" Arthur Alders and they shared four children together, Garland, Kristi, Sandra and Douglas. Being a wife and mother were Polly's greatest joys. In addition, she was also a professional business woman, spending her years as a bookkeeper for various organizations as well as she and Bud's own business, Alders Hauling and Excavating Company. After vacationing with her family for many years to the Bulls Shoals Lake area, in 1984 she and Bud bought a retirement home on the lake in Theodosia, MO. This served as a special gathering place for all of their friends and family for the next 30 years. After Bud's passing in 2010, Polly joined a new club of ladies called the "Red Hat Ladies at the Lake" in Theodosia. Weekly, she would play cards and go on outings with these ladies and it wasn't long before she made a new group of dear friends that would become part of her extended family.

Polly left us to take her place among the angels on Friday, January 29, 2016 at the age of 85 in Mountain Home, AR. She is survived by her children, Garland & Suzie Alders of Kansas City, MO, Kristi & John Williams of Theodosia, MO, Sandra & Bill Looney of Pontiac, MO, and Douglas & Nina Alders of St. Joseph, MO; grandchildren, John & Angie Williams, Travis & Marlie Williams, Misti & Brian Heide, Eric & Michelle Alders, Tiffany and Brooks Gould, Josh Alders and Ashley Looney; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 10 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville, MO with Dale Roberts officiating. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Lutie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House, 701 Burnett Drive, Mtn. Home, AR 72653.
