Darrell Roberts

Robert Darrell Roberts, son of Rev. Glesco Roberts and Edith Mae (Boggs) Roberts was born on July 17, 1941 in Brownbranch, MO and went home to be with his Lord on Oct. 29, 2008 at Ava, MO. He was 67 years of age.

Darrell was a retired Funeral Director and a resident of the Ava community for several years. Darrell and Charlotte Todd were united in marriage on April 22, 1961 in Ava and to this union one son was born. Darrell was a Christian and a member of the General Baptist Church and attended the Ava General Baptist Church. He had been employed with Clinkingbeard Funeral Home for several years. Darrell enjoyed trading trucks. He loved reaching out and caring for people and their families at the funeral home. He adored his family and friends. His smiling face will be missed but never forgotten.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Glesco & Edith Roberts.

He is survived by one son, Kirk Roberts, Springfield, MO, one grandson, Darren Roberts, Ava, MO, one sister Janice Keith and husband, Bob, Mansfield, MO, one brother, Denny Roberts and wife, Reanee, Ava, MO, nephews, Lane Jenkins and Heath Roberts, several cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services for Darrell will be Sat. Nov. 1, 2008, 11:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with the Rev. Tom Johnson & Rev. R.E. Helsley officiating. Interment will follow in the Dann Cemetery at Brownbranch, MO. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Family requests memorials to American Heart Association or Dann Cemetery at the funeral home.
