Darrell C. Woolsey, son of Clinton Christopher Woolsey and Cora Senora (Miller) Woolsey, was born September 27, 1947 in Ava, Missouri and departed this life on April 22, 2007 in Springfield, MO at the age of 59 years, 6 months and 25 days.
Darrell was a life long resident of the Ava community where he worked as a mechanic for several years for Barney Barnum. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served his country in the Vietnam War. While in the service he worked on army helicopters. Darrell was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Ava. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent time fishing, hunting and playing sports. He also enjoyed playing pool and being with his family.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dewaine.
His survivors include four sisters, Lavon Carter, Mansfield, MO, Nelma Lister, Ava, MO, Gerldean Carter, Mansfield, MO and Linda Bass, Seymour, MO, two brothers, Don Woolsey, Rogers, AR and Larry Woolsey, Ava, MO, many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services are Wednesday, April 25, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with the Pastor Tom Maples officiating.
Interment will follow in the Ava Cemetery with full military rites by Ava American Legion #112 & VFW #5993. Visitation is Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
