Darwin David McCabe, 84, of Tecumseh, Missouri—known by many as "David"—passed away at his home on August 3, 2025. He was born on December 24, 1940, in Watertown, New York, to Sigsworth and Bertha (Meyer) McCabe.
On August 2, 1994, David married Louella (George) in Elko, Nevada. He drove for Yellow Freight for thirty years before retiring. In 2005, he and Louella purchased property near Bryant Creek and relocated to the Ozarks in 2009.
David loved the outdoors: hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling were his greatest joys.
He is survived by his wife, Louella McCabe of the home; his sons, David Shawn McCabe and Jonathan Joel McCabe, both of Cedar City, Utah; his daughter, Amanda McCabe of Las Vegas, Nevada; three stepchildren, LeAnn Comfort, Sarah Comfort, and Jack Comfort, all of Montana; fifteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his brother, Robert McCabe of Tecumseh, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha McCabe-Pond; his father, Sigsworth McCabe; and his stepfather, Gerald Pond.
No local services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, Missouri.
