DAVID LEON COLLINS

David Collins, son of Mary Collins and the late Wilfred Collins, was born on December 25, 1948 in Wright County, MO and following a short illness was given peace on January 25, 2009 surrounded by his family in his home in Ozark County, MO.

David owned a logging and sawmill business and truly enjoyed fishing, riding horses and racing. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He loved his family very much.

David accepted the Lord into his life at a young age, and recently rededicated himself to the Lord.

He is survived by his loving wife Linda Collins of the home; his mother Mary Collins of Mountain Grove, MO; one daughter Melissa Miller and husband Scott of Houston, MO; two sons Bradley Collins and wife Leigh Anna of Elkville, IL and Thomas Collins of Effort, PA; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; two brothers Dwight Collins and wife Joann of Mountain Grove, MO and Cecil Collins and wife Cindy of Morrisville, MO; two sisters Freda Proctor and husband Frank of Mountain Grove, MO and Anna Seeman and husband Mark of Mountain Grove, MO; and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends who will greatly miss him. He was truly loved by his family and will be sadly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father Wilfred Collins.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at the Lutie True Hope Church in Theodosia, MO with Rev. Doyle Turner officiating. Interment will follow in the Lutie Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
