David Ford
Gainesville, MO
David Ford, 68, of Gainesville, MO passed to heaven on October 29, 2011 at the Gainesville Healthcare Center. He was born December 30, 1942 in Borgor, TX to Leslie and Glenda (Boone) Ford.
David was a 1961 graduate of Gainesville High School. After graduation he moved to Springfield and enrolled in college. David also served in the Army Reserves for six years. On April 30, 1966 David was united in marriage to Pat Brazeal at the First Assembly of God Church in Mountain Home, AR and to this union two sons were born.
After a couple of years in college, David moved back to Gainesville to help run the family business, Ford's Village Market, with his mother, Glenda. He ran the store from the mid '60s til 1980. It was then that David began his bookkeeping and tax business. He served as Gainesville City Clerk for 13 years; he was the Public Administrator for 2 years; and has been the Ozark County Treasurer for the last 12 years. He was a lifelong member of the NRA. For the past four decades David has been a fixture on the Gainesville square. He had a quiet yet friendly nature that made him an exceptional public servant; and his absence will be sorely missed. David was a Christian. He was a member of the Gainesville Church of Christ where he has served as Deacon and Elder.
David is survived by his wife Pat Ford of Gainesville, MO; his two sons Les Ford of Battlefield, MO and Brian Ford of Gainesville, MO; four grandchildren Haley, Luke, Sophia and Grace. He was preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Glenda Ford.
