DAVID LEE "RED" NEWTON

David Lee "Red" Newton, 63, of Wichita, KS passed away May 3, 2018 at Life Care Center of Andover, KS. He was born October 12, 1954 in Gainesville, MO the son of Harold Dean and Jerlean (Kelley) Newton.

Red was a graduate of Dora High School. After graduating, he soon moved to Wichita, KS where he began a long time career as a truck driver. He enjoyed driving for many years until his health began to fail him. He loved going to auctions and flea markets. He was a kind hearted and loving man who will be missed by all those who knew him.

He is survived by his two brothers Bob Newton and wife Brenda of Dora, MO, Bud Newton of Mountain Grove, MO; one sister Juanita Smith and husband Mike of Gainesville, MO; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Dean and Jerlean Newton.


Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2018 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Richard Martin officiating. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon, May 6th from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hale Cemetery. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Hale Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
