HAROLD DEAN SHAW
Dean Shaw, 80, of Lakeview, AR passed away on October 1, 2016 in Mountain Home, AR. He was born on September 12, 1936 in Pontiac, MO, the son of Hoy and Jewel (Crabtree) Shaw.
Dean was a man who wore many hats in the field of work. He was a lumberjack, a guide on the White River (where he even took the late Michael Landon and his sons on a guide trip through Gaston's Resort), he drove 18 wheelers over the road, worked at Guy King & Sons, but owning his own business, Shaw's Backhoe, where he landscaped new yards, installed septic systems, really just about anything to do with heavy machinery.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, telling stories about the good old days and finding a great bargain at yard sales. "Dad you will be missed but never forgotten".
He is survived locally by four children: Sheri Cline, Robert Shaw, Joy Stockton and husband George, and Donna McGowan (from a previous marriage) and husband Matt; grandchildren Nikki Litty and husband Nathan, Katherine Nuetzman and husband Stephen, Justin, Dustin, Ashley, Kaylee and Tyler Shaw; and numerous great grandchildren; other survivors include his three sisters Peggy Cumley and husband Bob of Missouri, Fern King and husband Bob of Oklahoma, and Betty Millett and husband Bill of Indiana; and one brother Dale Shaw of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Bob Shaw; one son-in-law Jerry Cline; and his late wife Chloe Shaw.
Memorial services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Dale Roberts officiating. Burial is in the Pontiac Cemetery. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
