Deanna Jean Patterson, 44
A memorial service for Deanna Jean Patterson, 44, of Gainesville, will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at Lilly Ridge Baptist Church east of Gainesville. Miss Patterson died Dec. 1 at Manor Care in Springfield.
She was born June 26, 1972, in Miami, Oklahoma, the daughter of Robert Patterson and Louise Hambelton Patterson. She grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, graduating from Will Rogers High School in 1990. Miss Patterson received her Associate's Degree in philosophy from Tulsa Junior College in 1994 then attended one year at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. Due to increasing medical issues, she was not able to continue her education and moved to Gainesville to be closer to family.
Miss Patterson was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011. Dec. 1 of this year was the five-year anniversary of her first radiation treatment. She spent the last years of her life with her mother, Louise Patterson.
She loved museums and classical music. Her dream was to one day visit Paris; in the meantime, her mother arranged for them to stay at The Paris hotel during a trip to Las Vegas. Her sister had bought her a video tour of The Louve as a Christmas present the previous year.
She loved celebrating birthdays and Christmas and enjoyed watching everyone open gifts – and especially enjoyed opening gifts herself. She was a very curious lady and enjoyed hearing the details of others' lives.
Her greatest passion was her lifelong love of books; one of her greatest joys in life was reading, reminiscing and singing songs to her numerous cousins, her niece and her dearly loved great-nephew. Miss Patterson became a great-aunt for a second time on Nov. 28, 2016, and was able to see photos of her new great-niece before her passing.
She is survived by her mother, Louise Patterson, and her sister, Sherri Beasley and husband Jerry, all of Gainesville; a niece, Haley Beasley; a great-nephew, Brayden, and great-niece, Zariel, both of Mountain Home, Arkansas; and a loving family of aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Patterson; a very special aunt, Janice Hambelton Lamar; grandparents Pat and Marjorie Patterson and Bill and Fern Hambelton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Patrick Cemetery.
Arrangements by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
