Debbie Carol Lawson

Madill, OK

Debbie Carol Lawson, 53 of Madill, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Hospital in Durant. She was born on October 3, 1957 to the late Robert Campbell and Juanita J. Jones Campbell in Porterville, California. Debbie was raised in Tulare, California where she graduated from Tulare Union High School in 1975. She married James Emery Lawson on November 27, 1976 in Tulare. She received her LPN Degree at COS college in California before moving to Marshall County in 1980. Debbie worked at Oak Ridge Nursing Home in Durant and several years for the Marshall Memorial Hospital and Tishomingo Hospital. She was a member of the PETA and the World Jewish Congress Foundation. She was a published poet and loved poetry. Debbie enjoyed going to concerts, skydiving, riding horses and being with her family.


She is survived by:
Husband: Jim Lawson, Madill, Oklahoma

Daughter: Melody Ellis and husband Charles, Ravia, Oklahoma

Granddaughter: Jamie Ellis, Ravia, Oklahoma

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and 1 Brother; Carl Day.


Funeral services will be Friday, April 29, 2011, at 2:00 pm at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Oklahoma. Joe Patterson will officiate the services. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 am to 9 pm and a family hour from 6pm to 7pm @ Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be Monday, May 2, 2011, 2:00 pm at the Thornfield Cemetery, Thornfield, Missouri with Buddy Boyd officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, May 1, 2011 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO. Graveside services by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
