Delita Mary Eliza Jenkins, 98 years, passed away on February 14, 2013 at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare, Ava, MO.

Delita was born July 21, 1914 in Douglas County, MO to James and Lunora (Thompson) Owen.



On August 27, 1935 Delita and Ralph (Rastus) Jenkins were united in marriage in Harrison, AR. Delita loved working on the farm with Rastus. She had also worked in Ava as a Clerk at the 5 & 10 General Store and Carp's Store on the square. Delita lived most of her life in Douglas County in the Goodhope/Crossroads community. She lived on the farm for 61 years.

She was member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Mansfield, MO.

Delita loved gardening and growing flowers, sewing, baking cakes and pies for all her family and friends. Delita's joy was cooking big dinners and being with her family.

Delita was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph (Rastus) Jenkins, two brothers, Willie and Cleo Owen, four sisters, Tressie Shaw, Ethel Lawrence, Roberta Kapuska and Zenna Haynes.

Delita is survived by five children and their spouses, Kathy & Tom Tilley, Bradleyville, MO, Steve & Bonnie Lawrence, Bradleyville, MO, Bill & Jeanie Lawrence, Cedar Creek, MO, Melody Lawrence, Springfield, MO and Dolis Lawrence, Benson, Arizona, numerous grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, two brothers, Adrain Owen, Ava, MO and Colbert Owen, Lake Havasu City, Arizona, three sisters, Thelma Cox, Moline, IL, Huba Pruiett, Loves Park, IL and Inetha Madison, Moline, IL, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.


Funeral services for Delita will be Saturday, February 16, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the Jenkins Cemetery, (Goodhope). Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Brother Ken Sawyer. Memorials may be made to Jenkins Cemetery or The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, Mansfield, MO.
