Denise Hambelton, 57, Gainesville, MO passed away on October 13, 2010 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in
St Louis, MO after a long and brave battle with heart disease. She was born on October 14, 1952 in Gainesville, MO, the daughter of Isaiah and Stella (Dougherty) King.
On July 1, 1983, she was united in marriage to Ronnie Hambelton in Gainesville, MO and to this union two daughters were born. Denise worked at Century Bank of the Ozarks for 28 years, from December of 1977 to December 31, 2005, when she retired due to her illness. She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, deer hunting and watching her daughters barrel race. She was a devoted Christian, mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend. Denise was a member of the Church of Christ. Her belief in God enabled her to bravely face the challenges with her health.
She was preceded in death by her father Isaiah King; and one brother Basil King. She is survived by her husband Ronnie of the home in Gainesville, MO; two daughters Sarah Hambelton and her fiancé USMC Sgt. Kyle Hogan and Kayla Hambelton all of Gainesville, MO; her mother Stella King of Gainesville, MO; three brothers Wayman King and wife Carol of Gainesville, MO, Michael King and wife Sherry of Cameron, OK, Manuel King and wife Crystal of Nixa, MO; one sister Debra Mason and husband Gary of Springfield, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Gainesville Church of Christ, Gainesville, MO with Halbert Smith officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 2 – 3 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Patrick Cemetery.
