DENNIS FERRIS

Dennis Gordon Ferris, 61, a long time resident of Gainesville, MO, passed away on November 12, 2016 at home. He was born on October 31, 1955 in Wichita, KS.

Dennis moved to Gainesville at the age of 16. He was a 1974 graduate of Gainesville High School. He married Irene Ferris on September 3, 1988 in Gainesville, MO. He had a career of factory work, finding his home at Bryant Plastics.
He ran a car detailing business from his home. He loved cars and restoring antique cars. He loved taking his prized '67 Mustang to car shows, and spending time with friends and family.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Ferris of Alexander, AR; his mother, Ginger Collins of Gainesville, MO; his step parents, Gene Collins of Gainesville, MO, Jackie Ferris of Alexander, AR, and father-in-law Frank Tilley of Whiteville, AR.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Ferris of the home; his mother-in-law Maxine Tilley of Whiteville, AR; his children: Dennis Ferris of Claremore, OK, Deana Ferris of Wichita, KS, Darin Ferris of Burrton, KS, Camille Theunissen of Estes Park, CO, and DJ Marler of Jordan, AR; three brothers Micheal Ferris of Tulsa, OK, Randy Ferris of Kansas, and Ricky Collins of Wichita, KS; four sisters Donna Holmes of St. Cloud, MN, Lisa Royse of Wichita, KS, Robin Strong of Gainesville, MO, and Dee Dee Marshall of Wichita, KS; ten grandchildren; and a big loving family of aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO. Visitation will take place on Monday, November 14th from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 2 pm in the Clinkingbeard chapel. Burial will follow at Pontiac Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Dennis Ferris, Darin Ferris, Bobby Bennett, Doug Diercks, Ben Strong and Kurt Gott. Honorary pallbearers will be DJ Marler, Tim Trivitt, Merl Lee Tilley, Junior Collins and Jason Dean.
