Denzil Lynn Jennings, 70, of Pontiac, MO passed away May 26, 2023 at his residence. He was born February 12, 1953 in Gainesville, MO son of Kayter Mashburn and Irene Jennings.

Denzil grew up in Protem, MO and graduated from Forsyth High School in 1971. He joined the Navy and proudly served his country for three years. After his military service, Denzil began working for the electric company as a lineman. He worked mostly in Missouri and Illinois, but occasionally would be called to other parts of the United States to help. His career spanned 41 years.

On September 21, 1981 Denzil was united in marriage to Kay Walthes in Carlyle, IL. The couple moved to Pontiac, MO in 2007 where they have enjoyed their time together, especially since Denzil's retirement in 2015. He was an avid runner who loved competing in many local 5k and 10k races. He had a great sense of humor, and mostly he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Jennings of Pontiac; children Denzil Lynn Jennings II and wife Megan of Gresham, OR, Nathan Alan Jennings of Pontoon Beach, IL, Timothy Doyle Jennings of Pontiac, MO, Sheree Verina Cornstubble and husband Tim of Liberty Hill, TX; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings Arnold Jennings, Halbert Smith, and Teresa Evans.

The family has honored Denzil's wish for cremation. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
