Diana Marie Coombs, 69 years, 10 months, and 11 days old, passed away on May 21, 2014 at Washington Mercy Hospital in Washington, MO with her family by her side.

Diana was born July 10, 1944 in Orange, New Jersey to William and Shirley Jane (Brinkerhoff) Marckfeld.

Diana was a resident of the Ava community for over 30 years.

On September 3, 1966 Diana and Roger F. Coombs were united in marriage in Ypsilanti, Michigan and to this union three children were born.

Diana had worked at Crystal Lake Fisheries for 14 years as a cook.


Diana enjoyed cooking, floating, and camping. She really cared for people, and was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

Diana was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roger and her daughter Carlene.

Diana is survived by two children, Cheryl Ritter, Ava MO, and Chris Coombs, Pacific, MO, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way.


Graveside services for Diana will be Tuesday, May 27th , at 11:00 AM at Whites Creek Cemetery east of Ava. Visitation will be 10:30 AM to service time at the cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Roberts. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO.
