Obituary

C.H. "DOC" GOLDEN

C.H. "Doc" Golden, 75, of Gainesville, MO passed to heaven on May 26, 2013 at the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home, AR. He was born on November 16, 1937 in Connersville, IN, the son of Louis and Georgia (Workman) Golden.

Doc grew up and went to school in Indiana. He was a veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Army. While enlisted he obtained his G.E.D. He spent most his life being a farmer. He moved to Gainesville in the 1980's and continued working on local farms. On April 20, 1996, Doc was united in marriage to Betty Crawford in Gainesville, MO. The two have walked side by side ever since. Although he had been baptized as a child, Doc decided to rededicate his life to the Lord in 2005. He was, without a doubt, a changed man. Doc loved the Lord, he loved singing for the Lord and he loved his church family. He was a member of the Frontier Baptist Church in Pontiac, MO. He drove the church van on Wednesday nights. Doc always had a smile on his face and a song in his heart. He was loved by everyone who knew him, and will be greatly missed by all.

Doc was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Georgia Golden, one sister Georgia "Fluper" Taylor, and one infant son. He is survived by his wife Betty Golden of the home in Gainesville; one step son David Orsborn and wife Kelly of Cotter, AR; two step daughters Dana Perry and husband Scott of Clinton, AR and Dawn McBride and husband T.J. of Mountain Home, AR; four grandsons Dalton Orsborn, Patrick Perry, Dylan McBride and Kyle McBride; two brothers Bobby Golden and wife Kathy of Shelbyville, IN, Danny Golden and wife Carol of Louisville, KY; one sister Ann Settles of Scappoose, OR; brothers-in-law David Taylor of Charlotte, NC, Ed Crawford of Viola, AR, Oba Gene Crawford of Harrison, AR, Ray Crawford of Harrison, AR, William Crawford of Mountain Home, AR, Willis Crawford of Mountain Home, AR; one sister-in-law Bertie Varner of Ingram, TX; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
