DOLLY MARIE THOMAS

Dolly Marie Thomas, 78, of Wasola, MO passed away on February 14, 2017 at her residence surrounded by family. She was born on November 16, 1938 in Nottinghill, MO the daughter of Olen Russell and Alice B. (Baker) Turner.

On September 25, 1954 Dolly was united in marriage to Alfred Alvis Thomas in Gainesville, MO. She devoted her life to the Lord, her husband, children, grandchildren and loved ones. Faithful is the first word that comes to mind when describing Dolly. She was a very hard working woman who you rarely found sitting down. Dolly spent many hours in the kitchen. She loved to cook and was very good at it; and even more she loved to feed people! No one left grandma's house hungry. She loved to be outside. Working in her flower beds was one of her favorite things. Dolly was a member of the church of Christ. She never missed a chance of being in church with her family singing and praising the Lord.

Dolly is survived by her children Steve Thomas and wife Sheila of Wasola, MO, Shelia Hash and husband Dan of Rockdale, TX, Rita Terrill and husband Rick of Leadhill, AR and Phyllis Lemons and husband Kevin of Wasola, MO; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one sister Helen Rowland of Nixa, MO; and one brother Russell Turner of Caliente, NV.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Alvis Thomas in October 2011; one infant daughter Debra Ann; and siblings Daniel, Barbara, Anna and Samuel.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2017 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville, MO with E. J. Hampton officiating. Burial will be in the Franklin Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon from 1 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin Grove Cemetery or charity of choice. Arrangements are by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
