Don Alvin Strong, 88 years, passed to Heaven on July 10, 2014 at Manor Care, Springfield, MO.

Don was born September 27, 1925 in Chandler, Oklahoma to Homer and Rutha (Johnson) Strong.

Don was an Army veteran. Don was employed as a construction worker .

He was a member of the Baptist Temple Church in Springfield.

Don and Marcella Jean (Denton) were united in marriage on August 18, 1950 in Kansas City, Kansas.

Don was preceded by his parents, his wife Marcella in 2009, eight brothers, and two sisters.

Don is survived by five brother, Larence and wife Jaunita, Springfield, MO, Arland and wife Christine, McAllen, TX, Norman and wife Ellen of Murfeesboro, TN, Charles and wife Jurldean, Alamo, TX, Claud and wife Peggy of Claremore, OK, many neices, nephews, other family and friends.


Funeral services for Don will be Monday, July 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Gainesville, MO with burial in the Pontiac Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. to service time in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Dennis Jennings.
