Donald L. Dobbs, 72 years, passed away on April 26, 2010 at St.John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, MO.

Donald was born May 8, 1937 in Cold Springs, MO to Jake and Ida (Reed) Dobbs.

Donald was a retired Laboratory Technician for the LaFarge Cement Plant in Buffalo, Iowa. On May 23, 1964, Donald and Sharon Downing were united in marriage in Rock Island, IL and together they shared six children. Donald was a veteran and served his country with the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Iowa VFW. He was a Christian and was baptized at Bakersfield. Donald loved Blue Grass Music, fishing, family and tennis match commentary.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Clarence (Doc), Hubert and Hanford, and three sisters, Wanda Combs, Gerline Linder, Phyllis Barnum.

Donald is survived by his wife, Sharon Dobbs, Ava, MO, three daughters, Leanne Dobbs of CA, Donna McKay and husband, Greg, Incline Village, NV, Patty Goodwin and husband Joe, Mt. Pleasant, TX, three sons, Kenneth Dobbs and wife, Carla, NV, Gordon ( Skip) Dobbs, Iowa, Donnie Dobbs and wife, Deanise, Ava, MO. 17 grandchildren, nine great grandchilden, two sisters, Edna Linder, Ava, MO, and Erma Turpin of Oregon, also his aunt Minnie Snoddy of Ava, MO. Along with several special neices, nephews and cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank health care suppliers, Mona, Bobbi, Betsy and Catherine, Kabul Nursing Home and St. John's for their care of Don.

Funeral services for Donald will be Saturday, May 1, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with burial in the New Hope Cemetery, Drury, MO. Visitation will be Friday, April 30, 2010 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Ray Dobbs.
