DONNA GAIL CLAYTON

Donna Gail (Gibbs) Clayton, 73, of Theodosia, MO passed away peacefully, July 6, 2018 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, MO, surrounded by family. She was born August 16, 1944 in Allegheny County, PA, the daughter of Leslie and Mary Helen (Richardson) Gibbs.

She married Harlin Clayton on May 22, 1965 in Kansas City, MO. She was a hard worker, a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked for the Olive Garden for 21 years, only recently retiring. She loved to watch her granddaughters barrel race as they were growing up. She also loved caring for her dogs. Recently she enjoyed watching her great granddaughter ride her pony around the farm. She always enjoyed visiting with friends and family and was an avid pitch and marbles player. She was also anxiously awaiting the arrival of her first great grandson. She was one of a kind and will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her two daughters Shelly (Shane Funk) of Thornfield, MO and Shanna (Erica Clayton) of Theodosia, MO; two granddaughters Ashley (Justin Lancaster) and Shelby (David Hood); and two great granddaughters Audrey and Claire Lancaster.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2018 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with David Mahan officiating. Visitation will be Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Hicks Cemetery. The family asks for memorial contributions to be made to: Hicks Cemetery, Lutie Cemetery, Graham Cemetery, or The Senior Center, Gainesville. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO.
