Donna Jean (Haynes) Dixon

Donna Jean Dixon, 94 years, 4 months, 30 days old, passed away on February 7, 2026, at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Missouri.

Donna was born September 8, 1931, in Ava, Missouri to Roland and Florence (Barnum) Haynes.

Donna grew up in Douglas County, Missouri. She graduated from Ava High School.

Donna and Robert “Bob” Lill were united in marriage in Mississippi while he was in the service and to this union three children were born, Darrell, Sharon, and Chris.

Later on, Donna married John Dixon in Ava, Missouri in 1969. They were happily married for many years and lived in Springfield, Missouri. He passed away in 2016.

Donna was a devoted housewife and homemaker. She was a dedicated member of the Grace United Methodist Church. There, she was a Sunday School Teacher for several years and she also organized and assisted the minister in the communion services.

Donna and John did a lot of traveling. They also enjoyed attending the Lady Bears games. She lived a simple life and delighted in caring for her backyard and her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; her children, Darrell Lill and Sharon Davis; granddaughter, Destiny Davis; her siblings, Max Earl, Fred, and Robert Haynes and sister, Betty O’Keefe.

Donna is survived by her son, Chris Lill; grandson, Benjamin Davis; her brother and wife, Richard & Shirley Haynes and brother, J.R. Haynes; numerous nieces; nephews; cousins; extended family and friends.

Cremation services for Donna are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, Missouri. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the Ellison Cemetery, c/o Mary Myers, 123 Southern Cross Dr., Clever, MO 65631.
