Doris Bacorn

Ava, MO

Doris Mae Bacorn, daughter of Noel Sutherland and Bernice Cooper Sutherland was born on May 20, 1923 in eastern Douglas County, MO and passed away on January 16, 2008 in Ava, MO at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 26 days.

Doris was a resident of the Ava community most of her life. She was a housewife and homemaker. On July 9, 1945 Doris and Ed Bacorn were united in marriage in Mtn. Home, AR and to this union two children were born. Doris was a member of the Ava General Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing crossword puzzles and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal's fan and also enjoyed watching any other college sports at all times. She loved being with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and her husband, Ed in 1987.
She is survived by her two children and their spouses, Ed & Jill Bacorn, Ramona, CA and Linda & Vann Mitchell, Ava, MO, nine grandchildren and their spouses, Noel & Brenda Dye, Ava, MO, Mindy & Scott Shufelt, Ozark, MO, Cory & Tod Gilbreth, Ramona, CA, Derek & Nashina Bacorn, Del Mar, CA, Holly Bacorn, Ramona, CA, Brandy & Michael Harvill, Ava, MO, Robyn & Robert Bash, Ramona, CA, Brian Bacorn, Maryland and Becky & Brad Adams, Ava, MO, 17 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild on the way, one brother & spouse, Calvin & Janice Sutherland, St. Genevieve, MO and a host of other relatives and friends.

Service for Doris is Monday, January 21, 2008, 10:00 A.M. at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, MO with Rev. Oren Alcorn officiating. Interment will be in the Ava Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Family requests memorials to the donors choice of charity.
