DORIS MOLENA THORNTON

Doris Molena Thornton, 90, of Theodosia, MO died Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the Gainesville Healthcare Center, Gainesville, MO. She was born October 19, 1922 in Ozark County, MO, daughter of Rayford and Opal (Tannehill) Ledbetter.

Doris retired in 1976 from Sears in Springfield, MO, where she was the Supervisor of the custom made drapery department. She and her husband, Paul, retired to Ozark County where they grew a huge garden every year and traveled to bluegrass festivals. Doris loved to sew and crochet. She loved to shop with her daughters and spend time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Salem General Baptist Church, Ocie, MO.

Survivors include: her husband, Paul Thornton of Theodosia; two daughters, Paulette Gebhardt of Springfield; Patricia Krause and husband Jay of Kimberling City; three grandchildren, Michael Gebhardt and wife Jennifer of Willard; Michelle Seeser of Long Beach, CA, Jennifer Dunbar and husband Mark of Highlandville; one great-granddaughter, Sydney Gebhardt of Willard.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Amos Ledbetter.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel, Gainesville, MO with Ron Pinckney officiating. Burial will be in the Lutie Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon from 1 p.m. to service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-Lakes Humane Society; PO Box 588; Reeds Spring, MO 65737.
